I Am (Version Infinite)
I am from evening skies
and rolling tides; the ebb
and flow of the cosmos.
Where stars blink in time with
my heart’s beat (thump-bathump-bathump).
I am from the midnight black
of a daydream’s nightmare. Under the
moon’s half-light, between two trees
I am born. Shedding skin like leaves,
I leave behind skeletons
of bark and bone.
I am from need, from more,
from never enough. (hunger raped
want). The desire devoured
is silent, for now. Pacified,
never satisfied, the monster
beneath my skin whispers:
more, now, again.
I am from ashes.
I am born of bone.
Skin of my skin,
I end
when I
begin.
